Poll Results: 42% Thinks Obama Deserves Nobel Prize

Of course the poll we had in this blog about Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize is not an academic one, and therefore the results do not represent the public. However, despite the above fact, I find the results to be quite similar to opinions found in various blogs and tweets. The ones who agree and disagree with the Norwegian Nobel Committee's decision share a somewhat similar proportion. What does it mean?

I personally think, as I wrote in my previous post, that the Nobel Peace Prize is not merely for how much you've done, or how many wars you have ended, but it is also for a strong vision that has changed the way we look at the world. Now, with his presence and views in the White House, at least we can see that peace is once more foreseeable.

Now, you might disagree by saying that there are a lot of distinguished figures out there that have worthy contributions for peace. Yes, that might be true. But, I believe that Obama is one of the few great people in this century that has made a strong influence for democracy, freedom, and peace, not only for the American people, but also for the world.
